The Nocturn Industries Katana Housing Kit is an ultralight articulating night vision binocular platform designed for users building a high-performance dual-tube system. Engineered around weight reduction, strength, and simplicity, the Katana remains one of the lightest housings available at under 15 ounces fully assembled, in its lightest configuration.
Constructed from carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic, the housing delivers exceptional durability while maintaining a low-profile footprint that reduces bulk and improves mobility in real-world use.
Independent articulating pods allow users to run single or dual tubes, with automatic shut-off when pods are rotated out of view. A friction lock system enables fast, tool-free interpupillary distance adjustment that stays secure during movement.
The Katana Housing Kit is powered by a single CR123A battery with approximately 25 hours of runtime and includes a LEMO 2-pin port for external power, supporting extended operation when paired with a remote battery pack.
Built to withstand demanding environments, the Katana meets or exceeds MIL-STD-810H standards, is drop tested to concrete, and is designed for IP68+ environmental resistance.
