These Nocturn Industries Chimera units are factory-built in-house by Nocturn Industries and feature our supplied 26LM 4 micron unfilmed image tubes, all with zero reported dark spots. We worked directly with Nocturn Industries to provide these devices with one of the highest-end tube options available. These Chimera are the limited edition ruggedized magnesium housing variant which were limited to only 150 total units worldwide. The ruggedized lightweight magnesium construction offers unmatched durability in hard use environments. Tubes are the same hue and color. The 4 Micron (4 µm) specification refers to the micro-channel plate (MCP) structure within the image intensifier tube. As a latest-generation MCP technology, 4 µm construction provides improved resolution and a more favorable MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) curve, resulting in enhanced image clarity and detail.

The Ultralight Articulating Panoramic Night Vision Goggle (U.A.P.N.V.G.), known as the “Chimera,”represents the next evolution in panoramic night vision goggle systems. It is the first articulating quad-tube device, combining advanced panoramic performance with a compact, ergonomic design.

This patented system achieves the lowest possible profile by allowing the optical pods to stow rearward toward the helmet, creating a profile comparable to articulating binoculars. This design reduces neck fatigue by shifting the center of gravity closer to the natural pivot point of the neck, improving balance and comfort during extended use.

Each Chimera pod can be stowed independentlywithout fully folding the device, enabling users to clear doorways, improve head clearance in vehicles, maintain rapid access to night vision functionality, move efficiently through confined spaces, reduce snag hazards in brush, and operate weapon-mounted optics or thermal devices simultaneously.

In addition to the stand-alone device, the Chimera system offers a bridge variant, U.A.P.N.V.G.-B “Chimera Bridge,” that is fully plug-and-play at the user level, providing seamless compatibility with existing panoramic NVG pods. The Chimera Bridge supports L3 GPNVG-18 and ANVIS-10 systems.
